Armstrongs Goal Sends Southampton Up

Southampton beat Leeds to return to the Premier League

Adam Armstrong scored the only goal of the game in the first half, sending the Saints back to the top flight after a one-year absence.

Southampton started the game brightly and Armstrong had a good chance to open the scoring in the first five minutes, but he fired wide of the target.

However, he made no mistake in the 33rd minute when he met a cross from Ryan Fraser and headed home from close range.

Leeds tried to get back into the game in the second half, but they were unable to find a way past a resolute Southampton defence.

The result means that Southampton are back in the Premier League for the first time since they were relegated in 2023.
