Kimmich Header Secures 1-0 Win Over Arsenal
A 63rd-minute Joshua Kimmich header gave Bayern Munich a 1-0 win over Arsenal and a place in the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday.
The German champions were the better side throughout the game and deserved their victory, which sets up a semi-final clash with either Real Madrid or Liverpool.
Arsenal, who were without their suspended captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, defended resolutely for long periods but were unable to create many chances going forward.
The Gunners' best opportunity came in the first half when Nicolas Pepe fired a shot just wide of the post, but Bayern always looked the more likely team to score.
Kimmich's goal came from a corner, and the German midfielder was left unmarked to head home from close range.
Arsenal pushed for an equalizer in the closing stages, but Bayern held on comfortably to secure their place in the last four.
