A man has fallen overboard from the Quantum of the Seas cruise ship, which was bound for Hawaii. The incident occurred at approximately 11:03 pm Tuesday night when the Joint Rescue Coordination Center in Honolulu received a distress call from the ship.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was reportedly seen going overboard near the stern of the ship. The Coast Guard immediately dispatched a search and rescue team to the area, and the cruise ship also launched its own rescue boats.
The search is ongoing, but no signs of the man have been found so far. The Coast Guard is continuing to search the area with a cutter, aircraft, and rescue swimmer, while the cruise ship is also assisting in the search.
